Damião de Goes Meetings

With the objective of improving the available information on European policies, and on the way they are followed up in Portugal, the Permanent Representation organizes, in its facilities, the “Damião de Goes Meetings”. Until today we have hosted the following Conferences:

  •  “Portugal: building a sustainable future”, on March 14 2014, with a key-note speech by the then Secretary of State to the Prime-Minister, Mr. Carlos Moedas;

  • “EU’s policy on social innovation and entrepreneurship”, on 6 May 2014, with key-note speeches by Ms. Maria do Carmo Marques Pinto, Director of Entrepreneurship and Social Economy of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Lisboa, Mr. Nicolas Gibert-Morin, Head of Cabinet of the Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion and Ms. Amaryllis Verhoeven, responsible for the area of social entrepreneurship at DG MARKT of the European Commission.
  • “E-Government within the context of the Digital Agenda”, on 27 February 2015, organized in cooperation with the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU, with key-note speeches by the Latvian Permanent Representative to the EU, Ambassador Ilze Juhansone, Mr. Robert Madelin, Director General of DG CONNECT at the European Commission and Mr. Paulo Neves, President of the Portuguese Agency for the Public Services Reform.
